Twenty four to forty eight hours after performing weighted squats, my muscles become increasingly sore rather than healing. I read an article about mature athletes training issues and they said it was because of kinins being formed and not being removed. Any solutions?

Great article – you’re absolutely right about the bench press. Nowadays I do weighted dips and incline push ups which to my mind build more functional strength (along with squats, deads, overhead presses, rows, power cleans, pull ups etc).

I was just wondering how the bench press has achieved it’s status as the most used strength training exercise on the planet in view of the fact that it started out as a mere assistance exercise to help develop the standing overhead press?
